Spider Man: Brand New Day Reaches USD 2.33 Billion Worldwide

Internet, August 31: Spider Man: Brand New Day has reached USD 2.33 billion worldwide, strengthening its position among the highest grossing films in cinema history.

The Tom Holland starrer continued its strong theatrical run during its fifth weekend. It earned an estimated USD 22.2 million in the United States and Canada.

As a result, its worldwide collection climbed to about USD 2.33 billion. The film has now moved past Titanic and entered the top tier of global box office performers. Recent reports place it at fourth on the all time worldwide list.

The latest milestone also puts the Marvel film close to Avatar: The Way of Water. However, current rankings show that Ne Zha 2 remains ahead, which prevents Spider Man: Brand New Day from claiming third place at this stage.

The film has maintained an exceptional run since its release. It also became one of the fastest films to cross the USD 2 billion mark worldwide. Variety reported that the movie crossed USD 2 billion after only three weeks in theatres.

Spider Man: Brand New Day Continues to Dominate Global Box Office

The latest performance has also strengthened Tom Holland’s position among Hollywood’s highest grossing stars. His long running role as Peter Parker has contributed significantly to his career box office earnings.

The film has also performed strongly in North America. Recent reports said it crossed USD 858 million domestically, moving ahead of Avengers: Endgame and into second place on the all time North American chart. Only Star Wars: The Force Awakens remains ahead.

Meanwhile, Coyote vs. Acme opened in second place in North America with an estimated USD 15.5 million. The film had previously been shelved by Warner Bros. before Ketchup Entertainment acquired its distribution rights.

The movie received strong audience and critic responses. It recorded an A CinemaScore and a 95 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, according to reports.

Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey remained in third place during the weekend. It earned an estimated USD 14.3 million in North America and reached around USD 1.55 billion globally.

Ridley Scott’s The Dog Stars opened in fifth place with USD 8 million domestically. The film added USD 11.3 million from overseas markets.
