State BJP Leaders Meet Governor, Seek Judicial Probe Into Inter Board Goof-Up
Hyderabad, April 25 (Maxim News): A delegation of State BJP leader today called on Governor E.S.L.
Narasimhan at the Raj Bhavan and submitted a representation demanding judicial probe by a sitting High Court Judge to fix the responsibility and punish the guilty in the Intermediate Results goof up issue.
The TS-BJP also demanded immediate suspension of the Secretary of Intermediate Board for stating that ‘mass hysteria’ has been the reason for suicides and not the blunders of the Board. “There must be a thorough probe to understand the circumstances which led to the award of contract to the inexperienced private firm Globareena at the cost of the Government owned “Centre for Good Governance” which has proven track-record”, they added.
The TS-BJP also placed on record its appreciation to the Governor for constantly monitoring the Intermediate examinations goof up issue. Both the Education Minister and Board of Intermediate
Education Secretary were trying to deflect the focus from the core issue of the monumental omissions in the examinations and the results. The BJP leaders said as long as they remain the heads of the Intermediate Board, they would hamper fair probe.
The TS-BJP also thanked the Chief Minister for understanding the seriousness of the issue, albeit better late than never, and conducting a review meeting. However, had the Chief Minister done this a little before, we would have saved the precious lives of innocent students, they added.
“We also thank the Chief Minister for conceding to some of our demands, although the major demand for a judicial probe remains. It is now amply evident that the Board has indeed goofed up the exams and results. In the wake of the comprehensive evidence in the public domain, we request you (Governor) to drop the Education Minister for trying to mislead the people by stating that the whole episode was a consequence of the internal feuds amongst the officers”.
The TS-BJP also welcomed the proposal of the State Government to haul up the Intermediate Board. It also urged the government to ensure that the entire process was over before the commencement of Advanced Supplementary Exams so that students have better clarity while taking exams.
Pending the outcome of the Government constituted committee, Globareena be blacklisted and the agreement with Globareena be cancelled immediately. It also demanded that the State government withdraw all the cases foisted on the parents, students and student activists who expressed solidarity.
The delegation included Dr. K Laxman, Bandaru Dattatraya, N. Indrasena Reddy, N. Ramchander Rao, D.K. Aruna, P. Sudhakar Reddy and G. Bharat Goud, BJYM-State president. (Maxim News)
