Steps on for Sarala Sagar, Koil Sagar development: Srinivas Goud
Hyderabad, March 10 (Maxim News): Tourism Minister V. Srinivas Goud today informed the Assembly that the State government was taking steps for the development of Sarala Sagar and Koil Sagar projects into tourism spots.
He said they would develop the two projects into a world class tourism spots and allow them to compete with the tourism spots of the other countries.
Replying to questions raised by the members in the House during question hour, Goud said they had sent proposals to the Central government with ₹8.3 crore for the development of the Koil Sagar project into a tourism hub and added that they would take up the works after getting the approval from the Centre. Terming Sarala Sagar project as a great tourism spot, he said they would develop the project as well.
Stating that the Telangana State has a great history and historic spots, Goud alleged that the historic spots were neglected in the past. He said the State government had taken up the task of developing the tourism sector in an all round manner and added that the sector had registered 14.69 percent of development. He said the State was attracting tourists and added that the State was attracting three crore tourists every year. He said they would launch boating facility at Koil Sagar project on March 17. They were now preparing plans for the construction of the cottages in the area while noting that they gave already developed excellent cottages at Somasila project. He also said the State government was developing all important temples in Telangana and added that the cottages were being booked a month in advance. He also said they were building an Asia’s largest Buddha Vanam at Nagarjuna Sagar dam. (Maxim News)
