Authorities clarified that there is no shortage of fuel. They said petrol and diesel stocks remain sufficient at all retail outlets nationwide. Therefore, people do not need to worry or rush to store fuel.

Meanwhile, the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas issued the advisory after noticing a violation at a petrol outlet. Officials said they recently found that a customer received petrol in a loose container at a retail outlet in Tamil Nadu. According to the ministry, this practice clearly violates safety norms.

The government therefore issued strict orders to all retail outlets and dealers across the country. Petrol pump operators must follow safety guidelines while supplying fuel. Authorities warned that any violation of these rules will invite strict action.

Officials also highlighted the risks linked to unsafe fuel storage. Petrol is highly flammable, and storing it in unsafe containers can lead to serious fire accidents. Because of this, the government urged people to act responsibly and avoid unsafe practices.

Centre addresses fuel shortage rumours amid tensions

The Union Government also addressed concerns about fuel supply. Authorities said the steps come amid propaganda that fuel shortages may occur because of the war between Israel and the United States on Iran. However, officials stressed that the country has enough fuel reserves.

Therefore, the government urged citizens not to panic. Petrol pumps across the country continue to operate with sufficient stock. Meanwhile, authorities said they will monitor compliance with safety norms at retail outlets.

The Centre reiterated that petrol and diesel should be supplied only through safe and approved methods. Officials added that strict enforcement will continue to prevent unsafe fuel handling and protect public safety.
