Hyderabad, Mar 17 (Maxim News) : BRS MLC and K. Kavitha criticised Minister Seethakka over her remarks on corruption in Streenidhi. Kavitha said Seethakka’s comments were surprising.
Kavitha said it was strange that the Minister spoke against corruption while allegedly sitting beside a person facing serious corruption allegations.
Kavitha questioned why no action was taken against a person who has reportedly continued as Streenidhi Managing Director for 15 years despite several accusations.
Kavitha also asked why action was not taken despite alleged violations of Reserve Bank and Cooperative Societies rules. Kavitha shared a newspaper clipping related to Seethakka’s remarks on the social media platform X and demanded clarity.
Meanwhile, Kavitha also questioned the removal of 16 Streenidhi employees by the government for various reasons. She asked why a person facing serious corruption allegations was still continuing in a top position. She demanded that the government clarify its stand.
Kavitha further said the government should announce action against the person she described as the main force behind alleged irregularities in Streenidhi.
Kavitha said such a statement should be made during the Assembly budget sessions. According to her, only then will people believe the government’s claims of zero tolerance towards corruption.
Minister Seethakka warns of action against misuse of Streenidhi funds
Meanwhile, Minister Seethakka had earlier said strict action would be taken against anyone misusing Streenidhi funds. She made these remarks during a review meeting held at the Secretariat on the progress of the Streenidhi organisation.
The Minister said misuse of funds for personal needs or corruption would not be tolerated. She also stressed that women’s financial empowerment is essential for social development. Therefore, she advised proper utilisation of Streenidhi loans to support women’s economic growth. (Maxim News)
