Mancherial/Hyderabad, Sept 7 (Maxim News) A student lost Rs 37,500 to a cyber fraudster when he applied for an education loan on the website of a bank in Mandamarri on Sunday.
Mandamarri Sub-Inspector Rajashekahr said that a student from 3rd Zone in the town received a call from a fraudster who gathered details of his education, PAN and Aadhar card before extracting Rs 37,500 under the guise of charges for processing the loan in a phased manner.
The student realized that he was duped when he did not get the loan. He then approached the police by contacting the toll free number 1930 for reporting cyber crimes. A case was registered. Investigation is on. (Maxim News)
