Supreme Court Anger At Opposition Parties Over ‘Bihar Vote Deletion’
Delhi/Hyderabad, Aug 22 (Maxim News): The Supreme Court has expressed its displeasure at political parties over the Bihar voter exclusion issue. The court’s opinion is that political parties, especially the opposition parties, have failed miserably to respond on behalf of the people on this issue.
The Supreme court on Friday heard the issue of names of 65 lakh voters being removed from the list in Bihar. The Central Election Commission has recently filed an affidavit in the court on this issue. In it, the Election Commissioner has undertaken the process of revision of the electoral roll (SIR) in Bihar. In this, the names of 65 lakh voters have been removed from the draft list. Despite strong criticism from the public on this issue, no major political party has raised any objections or complaints, the EC said.

The Supreme Court expressed deep dissatisfaction over the inaction of the arteries in this regard. “What are you doing? Are you watching the riots?” it asked the political parties, especially the opposition. It said that it is the responsibility of the political parties to protect the rights of the people, but they have failed to respond.
Even after appointing Booth level Agents (BLAs), political parties have failed to help the people. Why are the politicians staying away from the people? it has been questioned. Implicated in this case, 12 major political parties have been directed to help their workers in registering voter complaints. The ECI has directed that the complaints should be filed on the basis of 11 documents or Aadhaar card.
The EC affidavit on the exclusion of 65 lakh voters in Bihar gives details of 65 lakh voters who were not included in the draft voters list released on August 1 have been published on the websites of the election authorities of 38 districts in the state.
The process of exclusion due to deaths, migration to other areas, and duplicate registration has continued. Physical copies have been displayed in Panchayat buildings. Block Development Offices, Gram panchayat offices.
Advertisements have been released through newspapers, radio, TV and social media for publicity. These steps have been taken as per the orders given by the Supreme court on August 14. (Maxim News)
