Supreme Court Dismisses Petition, Orders High Court To Decide On BC Reservations

Delhi/Hyderabad, Oct 6 (Maxim News): The Supreme Court has dismissed the petitions filed in the Supreme Court challenging the Telangana government’s G.O 9, which provides 42 percent reservation for BCs in local bodies. The court dismissed the petition as part of the hearing on Monday (October 6).

The Supreme Court made it clear tht the case will be heard in the High Court and that it should be decided there.

The Supreme court dismissed the petitions while the hearing was being held in the High Court bench on October 8, suggesting that their arguments should be heard there.

Gopal Reddy filed a petition challenging the Telangana government’s G.O No. 9, which provided 42 percent reservation for BCs in local body elections. The Supreme Court asked whether the case being heard in the High Court did not grant a stay.

The Supreme court made it clear that it could not interfere while the hearing was pending. The Supreme Court dismissed all the petitions filed against the BC reservations. (Maxim News)
