Supreme Court Made Key Order On The Demolition Of krishnajanmabhoomi

Delhi/Hyderabad, Aug 16 (Maxim News): The Supreme Court has issued orders to stop the demolition of illegal structures in the Krishna Janmabhomi area of Mathura, Uttar Pradesh,  It said that no demolition should be done for another ten days.

The bench headed by Justice Aniruddha Bose, Justice Sanjay Kumar, and Justice SVN Bhatti issued the judgment.  The hearing was adjourned for another week.

In Mathura, the Railway department has undertaken a program to demolish the illegally constructed houses in the railway lands.  When this program started on August 9, more than 100 houses have already been demolished.  However, the victims approached the Supreme Court saying this was completely unfair.  The bench that heard the case issued a verdict stating that the demolition should be stopped for the time being and the status quo should continue.

The lawyer on behalf of the victims requested the bench that the structures are being demolished illegally in the railway area.  It is alleged that this program was taken up without any prior notice.  This petition did not come up for hearing in court due to the strike of lawyers in UP. The victims approached the Supreme Court.  He said that people living in that area for the last 100 years are being evicted.  At present only 80 houses are left. (Maxim News)
