The Supreme Court emphasised that pollution-control measures must be effectively enforced during Diwali. It made clear that the focus should be on regulating firecracker use and reducing emissions rather than imposing a complete ban.

The court also advised the Delhi government to involve popular celebrities, including cricketer Virat Kohli, in public awareness campaigns to educate people about the pollution caused by firecrackers.
The Delhi government informed the court that it was prepared to take steps to address pollution during the festival.
The observations highlight the need to balance festive celebrations with public health and environmental protection.
