Supreme Court Pauses ‘Bulldozer Actions’: No Demolition Without Permission

Delhi/Hyderabad, Oct 2 (Maxim News): The Supreme Court, while hearing the petitions filed against the ongoing bulldozer operation in various states, once again said that permission cannot be given to demolish any person’s house as a punishment.

On this occasion, the lawyers also complained about the bulldozer action in Gujarat and Assam, so the court said that it will also look at individual incidents, first let us work on the ‘Pan India Guidelines‘ In the Supreme Court against bulldozer operation in all states including Uttar Pradesh, the Supreme Court today also said that its interim order banning bulldozer operation will continue throughout the country.

The court also held that India is a secular country and its guidelines for bulldozing operations and anti-encroachment campaigns will apply to all citizens, irrespective of their religion. The court said that public safety is paramount and encroachment of any religious structure on roads, water bodies or railway tracks should be removed. (Maxim News)
