He alleged that Banerjee violated conditions set by the Calcutta High Court during a Trinamool Congress student wing rally on Friday.

The rally was held by Trinamool Chhatra Parishad at central Kolkata.

According to Adhikari, the Calcutta High Court gave conditional permission for the rally. One key condition required organisers to keep one of two lanes free for traffic movement.

Meanwhile, Mamata Banerjee addressed the rally on Friday afternoon. She said the current BJP-led state government’s actions would help Trinamool Congress return to power in West Bengal.

She said ordinary BJP supporters would soon teach their own party leadership a lesson. Consequently, she expressed confidence that TMC would return to power in the state.
