Hyderabad, August 29: A protocol dispute erupted during the lucky draw for Khairatabad double bedroom housing beneficiaries on Saturday.
Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender expressed strong displeasure after officials started the draw before his arrival.
Authorities conducted the Gruha Lakshmi beneficiary selection programme at Komaram Bheem Adivasi Bhavan in Banjara Hills.
Nagender was expected to attend the event and participate in selecting beneficiaries through the lucky draw.
However, officials began the process before the MLA reached the venue. The development angered Nagender.
He questioned officials for starting the draw without waiting for the elected representative. He also objected to what he called a violation of protocol.
MLA Warns Officials of Action
Nagender warned that action would follow against officials responsible for the alleged protocol violation.
He expressed strong dissatisfaction with the manner in which officials conducted the programme. Subsequently, he left the event midway.
The incident has brought attention to protocol issues surrounding the beneficiary selection process.
Meanwhile, the Telangana government continues the lucky draw process for Indiramma flats in Hyderabad’s core urban region.
The first phase covers four Assembly constituencies in the core urban area. Authorities plan to conduct the allocation process transparently over four days.
The beneficiary selection process aims to identify eligible families for housing support through the lucky draw.
Officials are conducting the process as part of the government’s housing initiative for eligible beneficiaries.
The Khairatabad incident, however, has raised questions about coordination between elected representatives and officials during such public programmes.
The administration is expected to continue the housing allocation process while addressing procedural concerns raised during the event.
