Switzerland Bar Explosion: 10 Killed in Blast on New Year’s Eve

A tragic incident marred New Year’s Eve celebrations in Switzerland, as a huge explosion ripped through a crowded bar in the tourist town of Crans Montana, killing 10 people and leaving dozens injured.

According to local reports, the incident occurred at around 1 am on Thursday at a popular bar named ‘Le Constellation’, which was packed with people celebrating the arrival of the New Year. It is reported that nearly 100 people were inside the bar at the time of the explosion.

Eyewitnesses said the blast was sudden and powerful, triggering panic among those present. The explosion was followed by a massive fire, causing chaos as people ran in fear to escape the premises. The force of the blast scattered the crowd, and several people sustained serious injuries, including severe burn wounds.

Emergency services rushed to the spot immediately after the incident. Helicopters and a large number of ambulances were pressed into service to evacuate the injured. The victims were shifted to nearby hospitals for urgent medical treatment. Authorities said several of the injured remain in critical condition.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the explosion. Officials said it is not yet clear whether the blast was triggered by firecrackers, fireworks, a gas leak, or if there is any terror-related angle involved. All possibilities are being examined.
