NBA Re Accredits Five UG Programs of OU Till December 2028

The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has officially informed that five undergraduate engineering programmes at the University College of Engineering (Autonomous), Osmania University, have been re accredited till December 31, 2028. The communication was issued on December 31, 2025, marking a significant academic milestone for the institution.

The programmes that have received re accreditation under Cycle 2 include Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, and Biomedical Engineering. The re accreditation is valid for the period from July 1, 2025 to December 31, 2028, reinforcing the quality and standards of engineering education at Osmania University.

NBA expert committee appreciates overall performance

As part of the accreditation process, the NBA Expert Committee visited the concerned departments and central facilities of the college from November 21 to November 23, 2025. During the visit, the committee held detailed interactions with teaching and non teaching staff, students, research scholars, employers, alumni and parents.

The committee highly appreciated the overall performance of both the institute and the departments. It also shared observations and suggestions aimed at further improvement, which the college has welcomed as part of its continuous quality enhancement efforts.

On behalf of the college, gratitude was expressed to Vice Chancellor Prof. Kumar Molugaram for his guidance, constant support and presence with the NBA peer team despite his busy schedule. Thanks were also extended to the Registrar and OSD to the Vice Chancellor for their administrative support throughout the accreditation process.

The college acknowledged the contributions of several academic and administrative leaders, including Dean Faculty of Engineering Prof. A. Krishnaiah, Director CDAAC Prof. P. Usha Sri, Vice Principal Prof. B. Mangu, heads of various departments, coordinators, wardens, directors, and officials associated with academics, examinations, infrastructure, libraries, hostels and student services.

Industry and alumni support strengthens infrastructure

The institution also acknowledged the support of industry and alumni, who contributed significantly to the creation of state of the art infrastructure, including CSR funded facilities and industry supported laboratories. Their cooperation played a crucial role in strengthening academic and practical training facilities.

Special appreciation was extended to employers, alumni, students and parents for their active participation and encouragement. The college also conveyed heartfelt thanks to student volunteers for their tireless efforts during the preparation for the NBA peer committee visit.

The re accreditation of these five UG programmes further strengthens Osmania University’s academic standing, ensuring continued quality education and enhanced opportunities for students pursuing engineering disciplines.
