Sunstroke

Soaring heat coupled with hot winds is paralysing normal life across the State during the last few days. People are scared to venture out after 9 am. If they come out, people are taking precautions to protect themselves from the heat.

Sunstroke claimed lives of nine persons across Telangana on Monday. Three persons died due to sunstroke in three incidents that occurred in erstwhile Adilabad district.

An auto rickshaw driver Shankaraiah (46) died of a sunstroke in Hanumanpet of Vemulawada mandal on thursday.

Telangana government on Tuesday issued orders to declare heatwave sunstroke as a "State Specific Disaster" henceforth for the purpose of providing relief to the families of the victims.

A sunstroke claimed the life of an elderly man in the town, forcing his family to suspend the engagement of his daughter slated for Monday evening.
