Tappachabutra CI Suspended For Negligence of Duty

  • Hyderabad Police Commissioner suspends CI Abhilash after inquiry report
  • Constables’ complaint led to probe revealing delay in police action

Hyderabad Police Commissioner V. C. Sajjanar suspended Circle Inspector (CI) B. Abhilash of the Tappachabutra police station after an inquiry found him negligent in duty. The decision came following a formal complaint lodged by constables under his jurisdiction who alleged that the officer failed to act promptly on their report of a late-night altercation in the city.

According to official sources, the incident occurred a few days ago when police personnel on patrol at the Gangabowli area spotted a group of men sitting by the roadside. When the constables questioned their presence, the men reportedly refused to leave and allegedly abused the officers. A scuffle broke out shortly after. The constables returned to the station and filed a complaint at midnight, but the CI allegedly delayed action.

Instead of initiating a case immediately, CI Abhilash reportedly waited until the following morning to register it. When higher officials learned about the lapse, an inquiry was ordered. The Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) conducted the investigation and later submitted a detailed report to the Commissioner of Police. Based on the findings, which confirmed negligence in duty, Commissioner Sajjanar issued suspension orders for CI Abhilash.

The department has termed this suspension as a disciplinary measure intended to reinforce accountability among officers. Notably, this marks the second such suspension within a week in the Hyderabad City Police. Recently, Central Zone Sub-Inspector Srikanth Goud was also suspended on allegations of assisting in the escape of an accused involved in a multimillion-rupee fraud case.

Senior police officials said that disciplinary actions will continue against officers found neglecting responsibilities, stressing that such behavior undermines public trust in law enforcement. The Commissioner reiterated that strict departmental supervision will be maintained to ensure timely response and transparency within the police force.
