Tarique Rahman’s Key Decision Regarding India: Restoration Of Visa Services

Dhaka/Internet/Hyderabad, Feb 20 (Maxim News): Tarique Rahman, who took charge as the new Prime Minister of Bangladesh, has taken a key decision regarding India. He has restored visa services for Indians to travel to Bangladesh. These services became available at the Bangladesh Embassy in Delhi from Friday. Visa issuance between the two countries was stopped two months ago. Three months ago, there were attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh has also demanded the extradition of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is seeking asylum in India. In the backdrop of these developments, relations between the two countries have deteriorated. As a result, services have been suspended in the embassies between the two countries since December last year. In particular, the issuance of visas between the two countries has stopped. Visas have been suspended in both the Bangladesh Embassy in Delhi and the Indian Embassy in Dhaka. However, Tariq Rahman, who recently took office as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, responded positively to relations with India within three days. He took a decision to restore visas.

With this, all types of visa services have started at the Bangladesh Embassy in Delhi from Friday morning. Aniruddha Das, an official of the Indian Embassy in Bangladesh, said that visa services for people from Bangladesh to India will soon be restored in Dhaka. All types of visa services like medical and tourism will be available.
