Hyderabad, Sept. 18: Telangana has allowed adult family members to attend Special Intensive Revision electoral roll hearings on behalf of voters.
Henceforth, an adult family member can appear before the Electoral Registration Officer or Assistant ERO. They can also submit required documents for the voter.
Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C Sudharsan Reddy issued the direction on Thursday. He asked officials to accept relevant documents from adult family members.
Officials Asked to Resolve Pending Notices
The CEO said District Election Officers have already received the information. He also directed them to review notices and take steps for their resolution.
Further, Sudharsan Reddy made the prescribed declaration form mandatory for pending and future Form 6 applications. Officials must consider October 1, 2026, as the qualifying date.
Meanwhile, officials must ensure that the voter list revision follows Election Commission of India rules.
