Bengaluru, Oct.14 (Maxim News): Kannada Rashtra Telangana Association (KRTA) is gearing up for Bathukamma festival celebrations in Bengaluru for the fourth year in a row. With the support of Telangana Language and Cultural department, the association has begun the celebrations at Ravindra Kalakshetra. The Karnataka State Government too extended full support to the event which attracted over 1,000 Telugus and Kannadigas.
Actor Saikumar and Karnataka Congress Chief Sreenivas, JDS leader PJR Sindhia, Koorg Chief Conservator Manoj Kumar Shukla attended the program as chief guests. The Telangana Language and Cultural department sent artistes to Bengaluru to take part in the celebrations.
Oggudolu, Perini & Lambadi dances, Kolatam and Bathukamma group, women music instrument player groups took part in the programme. Artists from Karnataka also took part in the celebrations.
TITA and KRTA president Sundeep Kumar Makthala said celebrating Telangana’s Bathukamma festival in Bengaluru was a historic moment. He said the Karnataka government’s support shows the respect for Telangana and its festivals. The KRTA hopes to celebrate Bathukamma next year at Pampana Telangana Bhavan with the support of the Karnataka Government.
Makthala said the KRTA was planning to celebrate the festival every year in Bengaluru in a big way. This will boost the efforts of Telangana to promote its culture and festivals. The Telangana State government was sending artistes to Bengaluru to make the celebrations grand, he added.
KRTA vice-president E V Sateesh, B Prathap, Nagalakshmi, Anuradha, Manjula, Sampath Ramanujan, Sri Chakra, Neeraja, Media Coordinator Siri, joint secretary Madhu Arella, Keshav Soni, Sharath, Manjula, Sumit Chandra, Naveen Kumar and others took part in the program. (Maxim News)
