Hyderabad, Mar 20 (Maxim News): Telangana government allocated Rs 12,600 crore for Scheduled Tribes in remote areas.
Funds support the Indira Soura Giri Jala Vikasam scheme. This targets tribal farmers with full solar pump subsidies.
Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced details in assembly today.
Solar Pumps for Podu Lands
Scheme provides 100% subsidized solar pumpsets. It covers 2.10 lakh tribal farmers. Cultivation spans 6 lakh acres of podu lands.
Focus stays on forest produce plantations. Currently, Achampet hosts the pilot project. Government studies its methods now.
Statewide rollout follows soon. Previously, tribal welfare gained priority post state formation. For example, podu lands faced development gaps earlier.
This budget addresses those directly. Thus, remote areas see major infrastructure boost. Assembly members noted scheme potential.(Maxim News)
