Telangana Cabinet Meeting | Hyderabad, Nov. 6 (Maxim News): The Telangana government has postponed the state cabinet meeting scheduled for Friday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

The Secretariat issued an official announcement on Thursday stating that the cabinet meeting will now be held on November 12 at 3 p.m.

Telangana Cabinet Meeting | Decision on Local Body Polls Soon

The cabinet is expected to discuss the recent High Court verdict on local body elections and take a final decision on the conduct of polls.

Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy confirmed that the issue will be part of the upcoming agenda.

In a related development, the state cabinet has already approved an amendment to the Telangana Panchayat Raj Act, 2018.

The amendment removes Section 21(3), which earlier restricted candidates with more than two children from contesting local body elections.

Governor Jishnu Dev Verma has approved the file approving local body candidates to contest elections having more than two children, and the Law Department has published the gazette notification following his assent. (Maxim News)
