Telangana Cabinet to Meet on July 10: Key Decisions Expected

Hyderabad, July 8, 2025 (Maxim News): The Telangana State Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, will convene on July 10 at the State Secretariat to deliberate on several key issues, including new ration card distribution, revision of land market values, stamp duty hike, local body elections, and irrigation planning for the ongoing kharif season.

According to official sources, local body elections are likely to top the agenda. Following a recent High Court directive instructing the government to conduct polls within three months (before September), the cabinet is expected to discuss electoral readiness and assess the Congress party’s ground strength, especially amid growing public dissatisfaction over unmet electoral promises—except for the disbursement of Rythu Bandhu benefits to farmers.

Another major focus will be on revenue generation. The Revenue and Stamps & Registration Department has submitted proposals to revise market values of land, particularly within the Outer Ring Road (ORR) areas of Hyderabad. The government is also considering increasing stamp duties to boost income, a move that may impact property buyers and sellers.

On the welfare front, the long-pending issue of issuing new ration cards is expected to be resolved. The Civil Supplies Department has already initiated the verification of both online and manual applications submitted by eligible citizens.

The cabinet will also deliberate on irrigation strategies for the kharif crop season. With water levels fluctuating across major reservoirs in the Krishna and Godavari river basins, including the Kaleshwaram project, the government is expected to take a decision on releasing water from the Medigadda barrage, a long-standing demand from the farming community.
