Hyderabad, June 9: The official X account of the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TSCB) was reportedly hacked on May 22. However, officials allegedly failed to detect or acknowledge the breach for nearly 20 days.
The incident has triggered discussion on social media, as the TSCB is the state agency responsible for preventing cyber crimes and strengthening cyber security.
According to reports, cyber criminals gained access to the official account on May 22. Despite the passage of almost three weeks, there has been no public acknowledgment from the bureau regarding the alleged compromise.
The development has drawn attention because the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau was once regarded as one of the country’s leading cyber security agencies.
Meanwhile, several social media users questioned how a cyber security agency’s official account could remain compromised for such a long period without detection. Some users also criticized the agency’s priorities and functioning.
No official statement has been issued by the bureau on the reported hacking incident so far.
