Telangana Ensures Foolproof Security for Lok Sabha Polls: DGP Ravi Gupta
Telangana | Hyderabad, May 12: Ahead of Monday’s Lok Sabha elections in Telangana, the state police has implemented comprehensive security measures to ensure smooth elections.
Director General of Police Ravi Gupta revealed the deployment of 73,414 civil police personnel, 500 units of TS Special Police, 164 squads from Central Armed Police Forces, three contingents from Tamil Nadu Special Armed Police, 2088 staff from various departments, and 7,000 home guards from neighboring states, all aimed at safeguarding the electoral process.
In addition, 8,863 FIRs have been lodged for violations ranging from the Excise Act to the Representation of the People Act, with 34,526 individuals flagged as potential disruptors, including rowdies and election offenders.

Emphasizing a zero-tolerance approach towards any interference, the DGP announced the activation of a centralized control room at the DGP Office, operational from 7 am Sunday until the secure storage of the final EVM in strong rooms.
To enforce the Model Code of Conduct rigorously, the police have established 482 Fixed Static Teams (FSTs), 462 Static Surveillance Teams (SSTs), 89 interstate border checkposts, and 173 Inter-District checkposts.
