Telangana Govt Transfers 134 Assistant Section Officers in Secretariat

Hyderabad, Nov. 12: The Government of Telangana has issued orders transferring and posting 134 Assistant Section Officers (ASOs) across various departments in the Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat.

The General Administration (SU-II) Department released the transfer order, O.O. Rt. No.2504, dated November 12, 2025. The move aims to address administrative exigencies and improve inter-departmental coordination.

Large-scale reshuffle to streamline administration

Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao signed the orders directing all operational departments to relieve and join the transferred officers immediately.

The departments have been instructed to report the date of relief and joining of each officer to the Secretariat for official records.

The reshuffle affects officers from multiple departments including Revenue, Energy, Home, Planning, Women Development & Child Welfare, Municipal Administration & Urban Development (MA&UD), and Roads & Buildings (TR&B).

Officers from the General Administration Department (GAD) were also among those reassigned to new wings like Health, Education, and Civil Supplies.

Among the notable transfers, officers working in A&C, AHDD&F, and GAD have been moved to crucial service sectors such as Health, Education, and Planning.

Similarly, several officers from the Energy and Revenue Departments have been posted to the General Administration, indicating a restructuring for operational efficiency.

The order specifies that the transfers take immediate effect. It also requires departments to ensure smooth transitions without affecting administrative workflow.

The reshuffle forms part of the Secretariat’s ongoing efforts to balance staffing levels and ensure optimal deployment of human resources across departments.

This is one of the largest ASO-level transfer exercises in recent months, reflecting the government’s commitment to strengthen governance mechanisms and improve service delivery through efficient administrative management.
