A fact-finding committee was then formed. It examined the issue and flagged serious irregularities in the conduct of the postgraduate examinations. Allegations also surfaced that the Vice Chancellor appointed staff without issuing a notification. These concerns created major controversy around the university’s examination system and administration.

Speaking to local media persons on Saturday, Dr Reddy responded to the claims. He said the committee spoke directly with the student and collected details about her complaint. He explained that the university initiated an inquiry through a committee after gathering information. He also said the re-evaluation process followed the committee’s recommendations. According to him, all actions were in line with university rules and regulations.

He maintained that his decisions only aimed to ensure justice for the student. He stated that he did not do anything wrong. Dr Reddy said, “If I have made any mistake, I am ready to face punishment”. He described the allegations circulating against him as baseless.

The Vice Chancellor added that vigilance officials did not question or contact him at any stage. He said he was only informed that a vigilance team inspected the examination centre and seized some answer scripts. He also warned that false rumours were damaging the university’s reputation. According to him, misinformation could mislead students and tarnish the university’s name. Meanwhile, his resignation has brought attention to the concerns raised by the fact-finding committee. The matter has sparked debate on how examination systems should be monitored to protect student interests.
