Telangana Heatwave Alert Amid Monsoon Rains

Telangana Heatwave  | Hyderabad, June 11: Moderate to heavy rainfall in several parts of Telangana has brought relief to farmers and residents after the arrival of the southwest monsoon.

However, weather experts have now issued an unexpected heatwave alert for parts of the state, warning that temperatures could rise sharply over the next few days.

According to Telangana Weatherman, dry winds blowing from North West India are likely to increase daytime temperatures across several districts on Thursday. As a result, heatwave conditions may prevail in parts of northern Telangana despite ongoing monsoon activity in other regions.

The weather expert said maximum temperatures could reach as high as 44 degrees Celsius in some districts. Consequently, authorities have advised people to take precautions during peak afternoon hours.

Meanwhile, eastern Telangana districts may record temperatures ranging between 41 and 43 degrees Celsius. Similarly, several areas in northern Telangana could experience intense heat conditions.

In contrast, southern and central Telangana are expected to remain relatively cooler. However, temperatures in these regions may still hover between 38 and 41 degrees Celsius.

Weather observers noted that the current pattern reflects a mix of monsoon moisture and dry continental winds. Therefore, some districts may experience both high temperatures and localized thunderstorm activity on the same day.

Thunderstorms Likely in Several Districts

While daytime temperatures are expected to remain high, weather conditions may change during the evening and night.

According to the forecast, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning may occur in parts of Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Jagtial, Mancherial, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Nagarkurnool and Nalgonda districts.

Furthermore, gusty winds and isolated rain showers may accompany the thunderstorms in some locations.

In Hyderabad and many other districts, only isolated light showers are likely. Nevertheless, weather experts advised residents to remain alert for sudden changes in weather conditions.

Farmers welcomed the recent rains as they support agricultural activities during the kharif season. At the same time, officials urged people to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun as temperatures continue to rise in several parts of the state.

The contrasting weather pattern highlights the complex conditions prevailing across Telangana during the early phase of the southwest monsoon.
