Telangana IPS Officers Association Condemns Allegations Against IPS Officer

Hyderabad, Jan. 30 (Maxim News) : The Telangana IPS Officers Association on Friday issued a strong statement condemning allegations made by a sitting MLA against a serving IPS officer, terming them malicious, baseless, and damaging to the civil services.

The Telangana IPS Officers Association said the remarks were directed at Karimnagar Police Commissioner Gaus Alam during the discharge of his official duties.

According to the Association, the allegations were made without evidence and questioned the officer’s integrity by referring to his religion.

In its official release dated January 30, the Telangana IPS Officers Association stated that such accusations undermine the morale and independence of the police force.

It said the comments amounted to an attack on the dignity of public service and violated established norms of conduct.

The Association noted that the MLA allegedly accused the officer of attempting religious conversions. It clarified that the claims were unsubstantiated and lacked any factual basis.

The Association said it deliberately avoided quoting the exact words used to maintain public decorum.

Furthermore, the Telangana IPS Officers Association demanded an immediate and unconditional public apology from the MLA concerned. It also urged competent authorities to take cognizance of what it described as grave misconduct by an elected representative.

The statement was issued under the leadership of Association President Shivadhar Reddy, who is also the Director General of Police, Telangana. Office bearers stressed that officers performing lawful duties must be protected from personal and religious insinuations.

The Association reiterated that neutrality and constitutional values remain central to policing.

It added that repeated targeting of officers on personal grounds could weaken public trust in institutions and governance. (Maxim News)
