Hyderabad: BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy on Friday issued a public apology, stating that his recent remarks were not intentional and were made under stress, while urging all sides to end the ongoing controversy.
The MLA said his statements were made in frustration and pressure during an incident while travelling to the Sammakka Jatara. He asserted that he did not intend to hurt sentiments and expressed regret if his words caused offence to anyone.
Padi Kaushik Reddy clarifies remarks amid political row
In a formal statement, Padi Kaushik Reddy said he holds police officers and government officials in high regard. However, he alleged that certain individuals stopped and pressured him during the journey, which led to emotional distress.
He said the remarks were spoken unintentionally in that moment of stress. Therefore, he clarified that there was no deliberate intent behind his words. He added that if anyone’s sentiments were hurt, he sincerely apologised to them.
The MLA further alleged that false narratives were being deliberately spread against him and his family due to political rivalry. According to him, the controversy was being amplified unnecessarily by vested interests.
Padi Kaushik Reddy appealed to all concerned to treat the matter as closed. He said prolonging the issue would serve no public purpose. Meanwhile, the statement comes amid heightened political attention following reactions from various quarters.
