Khalid Saifullah said it was deeply disturbing that a sitting MLA targeted an IPS officer who was only performing lawful duties. He said the officer was working to maintain public order. However, the MLA chose to level unsubstantiated allegations. He also said such conduct weakens respect for institutions. According to him, dragging religious insinuations into policing matters was completely unacceptable. He added that such actions went against constitutional principles of secularism and equality.

Meanwhile, Khalid Saifullah alleged that Kaushik Reddy was trying to divert attention from his own family disputes. He said these disputes had already reached the court. He further pointed out that even Kaushik Reddy’s own family members had approached the judiciary. They stated that the Jatara had been conducted peacefully for more than five decades. They also said the current year marked its Golden Jubilee. Despite this, Khalid Saifullah said the MLA interfered unnecessarily.

Khalid Saifullah said the MLA misused his protocol and position. He added that instead of respecting the rule of law, the MLA pushed a personal agenda. Therefore, he said making false allegations against officers performing their duty amounted to a violation of law and democratic decorum.

Khalid Saifullah also made it clear that the Congress party stood firmly with honest officers. He said the party would oppose any attempt to intimidate or demoralise professional officers for political reasons. He added that elected representatives carried greater responsibility. Therefore, they must show restraint and uphold democratic values in public life.

He further said Telangana had a strong administrative tradition. Protecting the independence and dignity of institutions was essential for good governance. He added that reckless statements weakened public trust. They also diverted attention from real public issues. He urged all political leaders to follow responsible discourse and constitutional discipline. (Maxim News)
