Telangana: Liquor Sales Till Midnight On New Year’s Eve

Hyderabad: Prohibition and Excise department on Wednesday accorded permission to liquor shops to remain open till 12 midnight on December 31 on the occasion of New Year’s celebrations, relaxing present rules that permit liquor sales till 11 pm.

It also permitted license holders of bars, event organisers and Tourism Development Corporation to serve liquor upto 1 a.m. on the intervening night of December 31 and January 1, according to Excise Commissioner Sarfarz Ahmad.

These permissions would be granted subject to observance of Standard Operating Procedures for Covid-19, he said.
