The High Court will hear the matter and examine the state government’s readiness to conduct the polls.

Earlier, the government sought time to complete preparations. Now it has filed a letter confirming full readiness.

The Election Commission also informed the court that it is prepared to hold the elections. This raised expectations that the court may respond positively.

The High Court already advised the government to conduct the local body elections with fifty percent reservations.

The government moved ahead based on that direction. It finalised gram panchayat reservations and issued the needed orders.

The new list includes changes in Backward Class quotas. BC seats reduced slightly while general category seats increased. Women’s reservations also shifted in some areas.

Authorities completed the lottery process and published the gazette on Sunday. They submitted the documents to the Panchayat Raj Commissioner on the same night.

Officials said they will place the gazette before the State Election Commission after the High Court’s decision. The government will also submit a letter explaining its preparedness. The Commission will then release the schedule.

The state cabinet will meet on the twenty fifth of this month. Officials expect the cabinet decision to guide the schedule. The Election Commission may announce the schedule on the twenty sixth or twenty seventh.

They expect the first phase of polling on December eleven. The second and third phases may follow on December fifteen and nineteen. The Commission is preparing for this timeline.

IAS officers are appointed as district election observers. They will guide the process and review arrangements. The Commission arranged a training session for observers and expenditure monitors on Monday.

Observers will visit districts soon after the schedule is released. Returning officers were appointed for two or three villages each. They will receive nominations. Authorities published the final ward wise voter list on Sunday.

Political aspirants have begun preparations after the reservation list became final. Many parties expect intense contests. Officials said the process will move quickly once the High Court gives clarity.
