Telangana Lok Adalat Settles 39 Lakh Cases In A Day, Awards Rs. 190 Crores Compensation

Hyderabad, Dec 31 (Maxim News): On December 30, 2023, a special event called the National Lok Adalat took place in the state of Telangana to resolve different types of legal cases, including those related to consumers.

This event was organized as per the instructions from the National Legal Services Authority.

Justice Alok Aradhe, who is the Chief Justice of the High Court for Telangana, played a leading role in guiding the event. Other important figures involved were Justice P. Sam Koshy, the Executive Chairman of Telangana State Legal Services Authority, and Justice T. Vinod Kynar, the Chairman of the High Court Legal Services Committee.

The Telangana State Legal Services Authority worked with Principal District Judges, Chairpersons of District Legal Services Authorities, and others at both the district and High Court levels to coordinate and organize the National Lok Adalat on December 30, 2023.

During this event, a total of 39,24,107 cases were resolved, including 32,65,22 pre-litigation cases and 6,58,887 pending court cases of various types. The resolution of these cases resulted in a compensation amount of Rs. 190 Crores being awarded to the beneficiaries. S. Goverdhan Reddy, who serves as the Member Secretary of the Telangana State Legal Services Authority, provided this information, stating that the cases were settled until 7:00 pm on that day.
