WATCH: Shiv Pratap Shukla Takes Oath As Telangana Governor

Hyderabad: Shiv Pratap Shukla took oath as the new Telangana Governor on Wednesday at a formal ceremony held at Raj Bhavan. The event drew the presence of top political leaders, senior officials, and members of the state administration.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy attended the ceremony. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka was also present. Ministers and senior officials joined the programme. Meanwhile, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao and TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud also attended the event. Legislative Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy was present as well. In addition, senior officers from several departments took part in the ceremony, which saw a wide official presence.

The programme began with Vande Mataram. Later, the gathering sang the national anthem Jana Gana Mana. Soon after, Telangana High Court Chief Justice Aparesha Kumar Singh administered the oath to Shiv Pratap Shukla. He took the oath in Telugu. During the oath, he pledged to serve the state with full commitment and to protect the Constitution.

After the oath ceremony, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy greeted the new Governor. He presented a bouquet and conveyed his best wishes. Several ministers also greeted Shiv Pratap Shukla. Therefore, the event concluded on a formal and ceremonial note.

Shiv Pratap Shukla replaces Jishnu Dev Varma as Telangana Governor. The President recently transferred Jishnu Dev Varma. He will now serve as the Governor of Maharashtra. As a result, the change led to the new appointment in Telangana.

The Governor holds an important constitutional position in the state. The role includes oversight of government processes and the handling of key approvals. In addition, the Governor plays a role during political developments and administrative transitions. Therefore, the office carries significant constitutional value in the functioning of the state.

Shiv Pratap Shukla brings long political experience to the role. He has held several public positions over the years. Officials believe his experience will help him handle the responsibilities of the office. Meanwhile, the state government has extended full support to the new Governor.

The oath ceremony followed official protocol and arrangements. Security remained tight at the venue, and officials ensured the smooth conduct of the programme. With the formal ceremony completed, Shiv Pratap Shukla has now begun his tenure as the Governor of Telangana.
