Telangana Traffic Violations | Hyderabad, Oct 14: Telangana has recorded approximately Rs.3.77 crore traffic violation cases across the state over the past 32 months, highlighting continued challenges in enforcing road safety rules.
Traffic police have expressed concern over the persistent violations, stating that the large number of cases has not led to a significant change in motorists’ behaviour.
According to the information provided by the police, the major violations include riding without helmets, overspeeding, driving without seat belts, wrong-side driving and jumping traffic signals.
Thousands of cases are reportedly being registered every day, reflecting the scale of traffic rule violations across the state.
The use of modern CCTV cameras and artificial intelligence-based traffic surveillance systems has helped authorities identify violations more efficiently.
Despite regular road safety awareness campaigns, the number of traffic challans continues to rise.
Telangana Traffic Violations | Pending Traffic Challans Run Into Hundreds of Crores
While millions of traffic violation cases have been registered, hundreds of crores of rupees in fines reportedly remain unpaid. Many motorists allegedly fail to clear their challans on time, resulting in a substantial accumulation of pending dues payable to the government.
In response, traffic police have stepped up efforts to recover outstanding challan amounts. Special inspections and enforcement measures are being undertaken to identify defaulters and encourage motorists to settle their pending fines.
Officials are also urging vehicle users to follow traffic regulations not merely to avoid penalties but to protect their own lives and the safety of other road users.
Motorists have been advised to wear helmets while riding two-wheelers and use seat belts while travelling in cars. Police have warned that violations could attract hefty fines and other legal action, including driving licence cancellation where applicable under the law.

Authorities have stressed that careless driving increases the risk of road accidents and that compliance with traffic rules is essential for safer roads.
With the number of recorded violations remaining high, enforcement agencies continue to focus on surveillance, challan recovery and road safety awareness across Telangana. (Maxim News)
