Telangana movement fought with same spirit as Quit India says Jithender

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao launched the separate Statehood movement for Telangana with the same spirit with which the Quit India movement was launched, floor leader of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) A P Jithender Reddy said on Wednesday.

Speaking in Lok Sabha on the occasion of 75 years of Quit India movement, Reddy said the Telangana Statehood movement had taken inspiration from the Quit India movement, and the goal was achieved through the persistent efforts of Chandrashekhar Rao.

He appealed to the Central government to take initiatives to weed out corruption and untouchability from society.
