Telangana Private Colleges Postpone Strike After Govt Promise

Hyderabad, Oct 8: In a significant development, the Telangana Federation of Higher Educational Institutions has announced the postponement of the strike planned by private colleges across the state.

The decision came after the government assured payment of pending fee reimbursement dues.

The federation had initially called for a strike starting October 13, demanding payment of over Rs. 1,000 crore in pending dues.

However, with the government promising to release Rs. 300 crore by Diwali, the strike has been put on hold for now.

The federation has warned that if the government fails to honor its commitment, the strike will be resumed from October 23.

This temporary reprieve brings some relief to private degree, engineering, pharmacy, and B.Ed colleges in Telangana.
