Telangana Proposed New Education Policy Aligned With National Policy
Hyderabad, Jan 9 (Maxim News) Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said the State government was preparing a new Telangana Education Policy on the lines of National Education Policy by constituting a committee with experts in education.
There are plans to extend free transportation for pre-primary school children in villages as well. These details were shared when Himachal Pradesh Education Minister Rohit Kumar met the Chief Minister here.
Meanwhile, Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy said the Telangana government was proposing to establish a new grain storage Silo system across the State to enhance food security and reduce agricultural waste.
Silos are tall, cylindrical (or sometimes rectangular structures typically made of steel or concrete, designed for bulk storage of grain). Initially, the project aims to create a storage capacity of 20 lakh tonnes, he said at a meeting with officials.
The State government currently incurs annual losses of around Rs 5,000 crore due to grain spoilage, theft in the rice milling system, and issues with defaulting millers, he added. (Maxim News)
