Hyderabad, April 30 (Maxim News) : Telangana Rakshana Sena received approval from the Election Commission of India, marking a key development in Telangana politics. The party was founded by Kalvakuntla Kavitha, who announced the formation recently.
Kavitha had earlier unveiled the party under the name Telangana Rashtra Sena at a public meeting in Medchal on April 25. However, the Election Commission confirmed the name as Telangana Rakshana Sena.
Following the approval, Kavitha shared her response on social media. She said the recognition of Telangana Rakshana Sena brings her great satisfaction. Moreover, she stated that her focus will remain on protecting Telangana’s identity and culture.

Kavitha explained that she had applied with five different party name options. These included Telangana Praja Jagruti, Telangana Jagruti, Telangana Rakshana Sena, Telangana Rashtra Jagruti, and Telangana Prajashakti.
Out of these, the Election Commission approved the third preference. Therefore, Telangana Rakshana Sena became the official name of the party.
She described the selection as coincidental but significant. Additionally, she noted that the name aligns with her long standing efforts for cultural preservation.
Party leaders welcomed the decision and expressed optimism. They believe the approved name strengthens the party’s identity ahead of future political activity.
Meanwhile, political observers see this as an important shift in the state’s political landscape. The formation of a new party is expected to influence upcoming electoral dynamics.
