Telangana RS Polls
The Congress selected the name of Abhishek Manu Singhvi, who is currently a sitting MP, and he arrived in Hyderabad on Wednesday evening.
After discussions and consultations late at night on who the candidate for the second seat would be, Vem Nartender Reddy’s name was finalized.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s strong request to finalize his Rajya Sabha candidacy, and since no objections were raised from anyone to the name of Narender Reddy, who has close relations with everyone, the high command finally gave priority to the CM’s word.
If BRS fields its candidate, a contest for the second seat will be inevitable. If that party is not in the fray, the Congress will win both seats unanimously.
There is no problem in electing Abhishek Singhvi for the first seat. The Congress does not have the required majority for the second seat. It will have to rely on the AIMIM. If there is no contest, the election will be unanimous. (Maxim News)
