Telangana: Schedule for Graduates MLC Elections
The ECI will issue a notification on February 16 and the last date for filing nominations is February 23
Hyderabad, February 11 MLC Elections: The biennial election for Telangana State Legislative Council from two Graduates constituencies in Telangana State would be held on March 14.
MLC elections:
Announcing the election schedule on Thursday, the Election Commission of India (ECI) said the MLC elections would be held from 8 am to 4 pm on March 14 and counting of votes would be taken up on March 17. The ECI will issue a notification on February 16 and the last date for filing nominations is February 23.
Scrutiny of nominations would be held on February 24 while the last date for withdrawal of candidature is February 26. The tenure of the sitting MLCs – N Ramachandra Rao and Palla Rajeshwar Reddy is coming to an end on March 29.
The last date for submitting nominations is February 23. With the release of notification, the election code of conduct has come into force in ten districts of Telangana.
Filing nominations:
The deadline for filing nominations is the 23rd of this month and the deadline for the withdrawal of nominations is on the 26th of this month.
It is to mention here that the voter enrollment for the election has been completed around 5,17,883 voters will exercise their vote in Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad graduates’ constituency. The number of voters enrolment has doubled compared to the last election when 2.3 lakh people were enrolled as voters.
It is learned that the highest number of voters are from Rangareddy district with 88,358 followed by Medchal-Malkajgiri and Hyderabad with 77,349 and 64,224 voters respectively.
The election will be held in nine districts which include Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Jogulamba Gadwal, Narayanpet, Rangareddy, Vikarabad, Medchal Malkajgiri and Hyderabad under Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad constituency.
