Telangana SEC Sets Up Call Centre for Local Body Elections

Hyderabad, Oct 4 (Maxim News) : The State Election Commission (SEC) has announced the setting up of a dedicated call centre to assist citizens during the upcoming local body elections in Telangana. Voters can dial 92400 21456 for information, complaints, and clarifications related to the polls.

Officials said the move is aimed at ensuring transparency and quick redressal of issues ahead of the elections. The call centre will remain active throughout the election period, covering ZPTC, MPTC, and Gram Panchayat polls.

Local body elections in five phases

The SEC has already released the schedule for the elections, which will be conducted in five phases across the state. The first two phases will cover Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies (MPTC) and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies (ZPTC) and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies (ZPTC) Polling for these will be held on October 23 and October 27.

In the remaining three phases, elections to Gram Panchayats will be held. Voting is scheduled for October 31, November 4, and November 8. Counting of votes for Gram Panchayats will take place on the same day, while the results for MPTC and ZPTC will be declared on November 11.

According to the SEC, polling will be held in 666 mandals across 31 districts, Elections are being conducted for 6,749 MPTC seats, 665 ZPTC seats, 12,733 Gram Panchayats and 1,12,288 wards.
The Commission said it has taken steps to ensure smooth conduct of elections across rural and semi-urban areas. By setting up a call centre and publishing clear schedules, officials believe the process will remain orderly and transparent. (Maxim News)
