Hyderabad, April 20 (Maxim News) : After days of intense heat across Telangana, several districts received rain that brought temporary relief to residents. However, weather experts have now issued a fresh alert for thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds across many parts of the state.
For the past few days, temperatures in Telangana stayed above 40 degrees Celsius. In some areas, the mercury touched 44 to 45 degrees, causing severe discomfort. As a result, people faced harsh summer conditions during daytime hours.
Now, according to the latest forecast, heavy thunderstorms may hit eastern, central, and western Telangana districts. Officials warned that strong weather activity is likely over the next few hours.
Telangana Thunderstorm Alert for Key Districts
Districts likely to be affected include Nalgonda, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Jangaon, Warangal, Rangareddy, Nagarkurnool, Medak, and Sangareddy. These areas may witness thunder, lightning, and possible strikes.
In addition, some places may receive hailstorm activity. Strong winds are also expected, which could damage weak structures, tree branches, and hoardings.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad is also likely to witness unstable weather conditions similar to the previous day. Around 50 percent of the city may experience storm impact. Therefore, residents have been asked to remain alert, especially between evening and midnight.
Authorities advised people not to stand under trees during rain. They also warned residents to stay away from electric poles and wires during thunderstorms.
Motorists should drive carefully as sudden rain and winds may reduce visibility. Waterlogging may also occur in low lying areas.
Weather officials further advised citizens to follow local alerts and avoid unnecessary travel during storm hours. Though the rain may lower temperatures, safety remains the top priority. (Maxim News)
