Telangana To Become Role Model In Digital Transformation: Sridhar Babu

Hyderabad, May 22: Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said the state government is working with a long term vision to transform Telangana into a national role model in digital transformation. He stated that the government is preparing a comprehensive roadmap to deliver citizen services in a faster, transparent, and accessible manner across urban and rural areas.

The minister was speaking as the chief guest at the Digital Transformation Finance Summit 2026 organised by Institute of Chartered Accountants of India at Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre on Friday.

Sridhar Babu said the world economy is rapidly moving towards digital transformation and technology driven governance. He observed that traditional systems are being replaced by digital platforms that are reshaping administration, finance, business, and public services. According to him, only nations and regions that adapt quickly to technological advancements will lead the future global economy.

The minister noted that India has emerged as one of the world’s largest digital economies. He said initiatives such as digital payments and digital public infrastructure have brought global recognition to the country. Telangana, he added, is playing a major role in India’s digital growth story.

Telangana digital transformation roadmap

Sridhar Babu said Telangana is building a strong ecosystem that integrates next generation innovation, skilled talent, startups, and economic growth. He stated that the government aims to increase Telangana’s contribution to India’s GDP to 10 percent by 2047.

He said the state government is focusing on digital governance reforms that can improve transparency, reduce corruption, and speed up service delivery for citizens. The minister explained that technology enabled governance will help people access government services at their doorstep without unnecessary delays.

Highlighting Telangana’s growing digital infrastructure, the minister said Hyderabad has already emerged as a major hub for Artificial Intelligence, fintech, cyber security, data analytics, and innovation driven industries. He added that global technology companies, innovation centres, and startup ecosystems such as HITEC City and T Hub are strengthening Telangana’s position as a leading digital destination.

Sridhar Babu said the government is encouraging collaboration between industry, startups, educational institutions, and government agencies to create future ready opportunities for youth.

Cyber security and AI challenges discussed

The minister also spoke about the changing role of Chartered Accountants in the digital era. He said finance professionals are no longer limited to auditing and bookkeeping but are evolving into strategic business advisors.

Referring to emerging technologies, he stated that Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Cyber Security, and digital finance are creating significant employment and business opportunities. However, he warned that challenges such as cyber frauds, deepfakes, crypto scams, cyber attacks, and digital financial crimes are also increasing.

Sridhar Babu stressed that professionals should focus on cyber assurance, digital risk management, and ethical use of Artificial Intelligence alongside financial auditing. He urged professionals to continuously focus on skilling, upskilling, and reskilling to stay prepared for rapidly changing technological trends.

The minister further said that innovation must always go hand in hand with digital safety, responsible governance, and regulatory compliance.

He invited industry leaders, finance experts, and technology professionals to partner with the Telangana government in strengthening the state’s digital transformation journey.

The summit was attended by senior officials and experts including Anand Mohan Bajaj, Abhishek Solanki, Rajagopal Sharma, Sahil Malik, Harshavardhan, Shailaja Rani Jampala, Rajesh Thapar, and Vinayak Godse.
