Hyderabad, May 22: The Telangana government on Friday organised the district level Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika meeting in a grand manner at the Integrated District Offices Complex in Nizamabad as part of the state government’s ambitious 99 day governance action plan aimed at strengthening welfare delivery and public participation in administration.
Government Advisor and Banswada MLA Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Nizamabad Urban MLA Dhanpal Suryanarayana Gupta, Nizamabad Rural MLA Bhupathi Reddy, Mayor Uma Rani, Collector Ila Tripathi, Telangana Urdu Academy Chairman Taher Bin Handan, additional collectors, district officials, corporators, councillors, sarpanches, and other public representatives attended the programme.
The meeting began with the rendition of the Telangana state song “Jaya Jayahe Telangana”. Officials also read out the message of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy during the event.
District officials from various departments presented detailed reports on welfare schemes and development programmes being implemented across the district. Officials explained the benefits being provided through schemes including farm loan waiver, Rythu Bharosa, Rythu Bima, bonus payments for fine rice varieties, Indiramma housing, Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak, ration card distribution, Gruha Jyothi, pensions, and interest free loans for self help groups.
Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika focuses on public participation
Officials informed participants that the 99 day action plan was designed to improve accountability, strengthen coordination between departments, and involve people directly in governance.
The meeting also highlighted several new initiatives that will be introduced from the upcoming academic year beginning June 12. These include the breakfast scheme in government schools, extension of midday meals to intermediate colleges, Young India Integrated Residential Schools, and Telangana Public Schools.

Addressing the gathering, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said the Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika programme was launched to create awareness among people about welfare schemes and development activities taken up by the government during the last two and a half years.
He stated that meetings are being organised from village level to state level under a clear action plan to understand people’s opinions and ensure their participation in governance.
Pocharam said rapid progress can be achieved only through collective efforts and better coordination between officials, elected representatives, and citizens. He advised farmers to focus on crop diversification considering present agricultural conditions. He also appealed to farmers to reduce the usage of chemical pesticides and increase organic fertiliser use to protect public health and improve sustainable agriculture.
Welfare schemes and paddy procurement highlighted
Nizamabad Rural MLA Bhupathi Reddy said the Telangana government is implementing welfare programmes on a large scale despite financial challenges. He noted that the government sanctioned 3,500 Indiramma houses in the first phase for every Assembly constituency to fulfil the dream of housing for poor families.
He added that the second phase of Indiramma housing would begin soon and eligibility norms have also been relaxed to help more beneficiaries.
The MLA said the government established large numbers of procurement centres to support farmers by purchasing paddy and other agricultural produce. He appreciated district officials for procuring nearly seven lakh metric tonnes of paddy despite severe summer conditions.
Bhupathi Reddy said the achievement became possible due to coordination and teamwork between the administration and public representatives. He also encouraged farmers to shift towards alternative crops that offer higher profits instead of depending completely on traditional paddy cultivation.
Focus on urban development and women leadership
Nizamabad Urban MLA Dhanpal Suryanarayana Gupta stressed that welfare schemes should reach all eligible beneficiaries at the grassroots level. He directed officials to speed up pending development works in Nizamabad city and focus particularly on Indiramma housing construction and double bedroom housing allocation in urban areas.
He also stressed the need for balanced regional development and improvement of urban infrastructure across the city.
Collector Ila Tripathi advised local body representatives to understand their rights, duties, and responsibilities while delivering quality services to people. She especially encouraged women sarpanches, corporators, and councillors to work independently and effectively without interference from family members.
The collector assured that the district administration would work to protect the dignity and authority of elected representatives. She asked officials and public representatives to ensure transparency in beneficiary selection and proper utilisation of government funds.
She further directed authorities to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries receive pensions, ration cards, insurance schemes, and other welfare benefits without delay.
Officials also stressed the importance of timely monitoring of development works and welfare implementation to ensure inclusive growth across rural and urban areas of the district.
The programme concluded with a call for stronger public participation and collective responsibility in achieving rapid and sustainable development across Telangana.
