Fit India Cyclothon Promotes Healthy and Active Lifestyle
Addressing participants, Dr. Mandaviya said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently emphasized fitness as a key pillar of Viksit Bharat. He noted that the Fit India Movement is encouraging people across the country to adopt healthier lifestyles and make physical activity a part of their daily routine.
The Minister also stressed the importance of cycling as a sustainable mode of transportation. Referring to concerns over fuel supplies amid developments in West Asia, he said cycling helps conserve energy, reduce pollution, and improve personal health.

Several prominent personalities joined the event, including actors Jackie Shroff, Taha Shah Badussha, and Aishwarya Raj Bhakuni. Olympic wrestler and Deputy Commissioner of Police Narsing Yadav also participated in the cyclothon.
Dr. Mandaviya said lakhs of citizens have actively participated in Fit India initiatives over the last two years, reflecting a growing fitness culture across the country. He described cycling as an effective fitness activity that supports physical health, mental well-being, and overall quality of life.
He added that a healthy population is essential for national progress and that fitness plays a vital role in building a prosperous and developed India.
The FIT India Cyclothon is part of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports’ ongoing efforts to encourage active lifestyles and strengthen public participation in fitness-related activities. The initiative aims to support the broader vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 through a healthier and more active society.
