WATCH: Four Arrested For Black Marketing SRH vs RCB VIP Passes In Hyderabad

Hyderabad, May 22: Police arrested four persons for allegedly black marketing complimentary VIP passes for the upcoming IPL 2026 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bengaluru near the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal.

The action was carried out by the Special Operations Team of Malkajgiri Police ahead of the high voltage SRH vs RCB clash scheduled in Hyderabad.

According to police officials, the accused were caught red handed while allegedly selling complimentary match tickets at exorbitant prices to cricket fans near the stadium premises.

SOT seizes VIP tickets during operation

Officials said the accused were operating a black marketing racket targeting desperate IPL fans seeking last minute entry passes for the match.

During the operation, SOT personnel seized five complimentary tickets from the suspects before handing them over to Uppal Police Station for further investigation.

Police suspect that the accused may have been part of a larger network involved in illegal ticket sales during major cricket matches and sporting events in Hyderabad.

Investigators are now trying to determine the source of the complimentary passes and whether additional people were involved in supplying or distributing the tickets.

Police warn against illegal IPL ticket sales

Officials warned cricket fans against purchasing tickets through unauthorized sellers, middlemen, or black market agents near stadium premises and online platforms.

Police said strict action would be taken against individuals involved in illegal sale of IPL tickets, overpricing, and fraudulent pass circulation during the tournament.

Security and surveillance have also been intensified around the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal ahead of the IPL 2026 fixture due to heavy public turnout expectations.

The SRH vs RCB encounter is expected to draw massive crowds as both teams remain among the most followed franchises in the Indian Premier League.

Police urged spectators to purchase tickets only through official platforms and authorized booking channels to avoid fraud and legal complications.
