Hyderabad, June 17: Food safety officials found serious hygiene and food handling violations during inspections at La Pino’z Pizza in Jubilee Enclave and AnTeRa restaurant in Madeenguda on June 17, prompting immediate corrective action and notices.
At La Pino’z Pizza, officials detected heavy cockroach infestation, expired food items and lizard droppings near the storage area. Inspectors also found microbial infestation inside a freezer that was under maintenance.
Food Safety Violations Found at Hyderabad Restaurants
Authorities observed that food items were not labelled or stored properly. Vegetarian and non vegetarian items were stored together in the same freezer. The outlet also failed to maintain medical fitness records and water testing reports.
Officials discarded expired and improperly stored food immediately. They also directed the management to carry out deep cleaning and pest control measures and issued an improvement notice to ensure compliance with food safety norms.
During inspections at AnTeRa restaurant in Madeenguda, officials found mould growth on cauliflower and potatoes. They also flagged repeated use of the same cooking oil for frying.
The inspection team further identified open dustbins near food preparation areas, use of iron knives during cooking and storage of ingredients without labels.
Medical fitness documents and water testing records were unavailable at the restaurant. Officials discarded mould affected vegetables and unsuitable oil and directed the management to improve food safety standards.
The inspections form part of ongoing efforts to strengthen food hygiene compliance and public health safeguards across Hyderabad.
