New Delhi, June 17: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will disburse incentives worth around ₹2,400 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana on June 19 at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. The programme marks a key milestone in the rollout of the Centre’s employment linked incentive scheme aimed at boosting job creation and expanding formal employment.
The Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana has supported the creation of nearly 15 lakh employment opportunities across sectors. The scheme focuses on generating jobs, improving employability, encouraging formalisation and widening social security coverage.
PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana Focuses on Job Creation
Under the scheme, first time employees are eligible to receive incentives of up to ₹15,000. In addition, employers creating new jobs can receive incentives of up to ₹3,000 per month for each additional employee.
The government has also introduced sector specific support. Employers in the manufacturing sector can receive incentives for four years. Employers in other sectors remain eligible for two years.
The Centre said the initiative aims to build an ecosystem that promotes employment led growth. It also seeks to ensure that economic progress translates into quality formal jobs for young people.
The Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana came into effect on August 1, 2025. The scheme carries a total outlay of ₹99,446 crore and targets the creation of more than 3.5 crore jobs over two years.
Of the total projected beneficiaries, nearly 1.92 crore are expected to be first time entrants into the workforce.
The government stated that the scheme will strengthen social security coverage and contribute to the broader goal of building a Viksit Bharat.
